We first remove the pointer of the movement, and the tool to remove the needle is a needle shovel and the hoe. I use the hoe shovel in the video.
After removing the pointer, then remove the wheel and friction bracing wheels. The dismantling of the rubbing wheel is generally used in pincrow, because I don’t, so I use a knot shovel.
Then we remove the back of the movement, you must first release the dynamic power before dismantling.
Then let the next disassembly, let’s remove the balance splint screw. The dismantling of all splints should be tried to upward, and the gap of the crowd is reserved between the splins, and can be fixed from the gap with a crowding or screwdriver from the gap.
Let’s take up the balance splints first, then turn the balance clamp to the outer side of the axis of the stroke to help us to remove the balances easier.
Better is best preserved
There is no way to DIY as I don’t have a balance bracket. Then you can remove the vertical sheet and the escapement, then remove the steel wheel, here you need to pay attention! The fixed screw of the small steel wheel is a reverse thread, and it is also the only reverse screw on this movement.
Demolition and tightening direction and other screws
Then take the large steel wheel and stop inverse claws, then remove the splint, you can remove the hair box, two rounds of four rounds and escape wheels. At this time, the back of the movement is complete, then remove the remainder of the positive.
First remove the clutch plate, then remove the clutch rod and the clutch rod spring. When you remove the rod spring, we can use a fixed rod or finger to make some occlusion, avoiding the spring.

Then, the needle wheel and the cross wheel are removed, and then the pull-up screws on the back can remove the pull and put the rod.
Then let’s see the installation of 6497. In fact, the installation of the movement is not as difficult for everyone to imagine. The only thing is more difficult is the transmission system and an escapement system. Because this part of the gear axis is particularly fine, then it is necessary to load the jewel eye on the upper and lower splints.
Share some of my own experience, first put the two rounds of four rounds and escape wheels. Determine the following axis is already loaded into the main clamp eye, then when the splint is installed, you can refer to the gap position to help determine the mounting position of the splint.
The splint is fixed before the splint is fixed, let’s first fix the eye on the splint and the splint. At this time, there is a large gap between the splints, you can adjust the position of the gear. At this time, you need to be patient and careful, constantly adjust the gear position until all gears are driven.
At this time, the clipper is pressed and put on the splint screw. After tightening the screw, then determine if the transmission between the gear is normal. To this step, congratulations, the most difficult part of the movement installation has been completed.
Then put the Totten, send boxes, and splints, and then install the size steel wheel and the reverse pawl.
Here is 3 points to note, one: The tightening direction of the small steel wheel is reverse. 2: 6497 The pawl spring is a positive and reverse spring tail end closer to the center is the right direction.
Third: The pawl is installed to test and determine whether the installation correctly can work. At this point, the capability storage system, the transmission system has been installed. The escapement speed control system has been completed in addition to the speed control mechanism. There is left to the upper cutting system and pointer system.
In addition to the upper body and the needle mechanism, the role of other parts is to appear on the gear position. If there is no compression spring and the clutch, the movement of the rod is countless. The composite spring is pulled, and the movement of the rod can only be only two points.
One point ensures that the clutch wheel is completely biting, one point ensures that the worm is completely biting with the dial wheel. This forms the genk of the handle.
Then we put the balance splint, try to keep horizontal downwards. The reverse operation of the dismantling the swing wheel is basically installed. After being installed, first determine the normal operation of the balance and the transmission system, then install the balance splint screw. The complete installation of the movement is completed.
